Good news?

Recently, the cruise ship industry has been the fastest growing segment in the overall tourism worldwide. Cruise industry contributes substantially to local, regional and national economies. The cruise lines also boost global economy supporting around 940 thousand jobs and paying around $40 billion in wages worldwide.








In 2019, the cruise industry generated a total of $55.5 billion in economic activity in the United States, a 5.3% increase from 2018. Moreover, growth in economic activity was accompanied by an increase in industry-supported jobs.

For Nigerian tourism and economy , resumption of cruise simply means more skew in the 'inbalance' of trade.

We have the Atlantic ocean surrounding us, but no cruise ship ever comes here, and there is a West African Cruise of some sort. The Carribean economies revolve around cruising and tourism- everyone earns, tour companies, taxi, souvenirs, ports authority, and the government earn huge tourism tax. If their cargo ships can bring all the exports safely, why cant they cruise on our waters? BILLIONS OF DOLLARS LOSS YEARLY, enough to back our budget. No borrow borrow!

  UMAHIA If you are coming from crowded, always in a hurry and crazy cities like Lagos and Aba, the calm city of Umahia may be a bit of a shock to you. It will command you to to slow down your tempo.   IBADAN! So on my getting you prepared for what to do as local tourism for 'Summer' I will recommend Ibadan. Nice places to see: University of Ibadan zoo (if you haven't been on a safari or see world class zoo, its not bad), Mapo hall has nice stories weave around it, the national museum is there as well, though not seriously fab, its a good place to go. You must get to the topmost floor of the Cocoa house which use to be the tallest building in Africa: You will see the whole of Ibadan spread out before you. It has a great museum too, pictures not allowed though. But its an amazing place to invest your time, fee is ridiculously cheap too! Don't forget to taste the variant of the Ibadan Amala, a wholesome experience for your taste buds! And if you know where to go at night, Ibadan definitely some wild night life activities that will keep you awake till the wee hours.
